simple things from the mile high city.

January 17, 2011

A light breeze blows in Denver.  Its brisk demeanor is light at first, but after a while you begin to weather.  Mesita and The Lumineers are of opposite sides of the “indie-rock” spectrum. The former, a solo self described minimalist whose multi-instrumental layers range from electronica to the accordion. The later a sextet of folk pop-rockers hellbent to mix the questioning humane subaltern on his midday dance during happy hour with bucolic manners.  Regardless of their differences, their shared simplistic approach provides for easy listening in the belly of January wind.
