Okay, Okay, I’m on the BOAT

December 19, 2010

At the 2007 Capitol Hill Block Party my high school mates and I saw the, at the time, 3-piece rockers BOAT (they prefer capitals) at the Vera Stage.  I write “at the time” because for the show they were without one of their crew members due to some reason that has escaped me after 4 years… sorry.  To compensate for his absence they made masks of their missing member for the audience to wear to fill the void.  Needless to say they are some cute witty dudes.  Boat is honest pop at its best.  One needs only to read one of their set lists to understand this further (i.e. Prince of Tacoma, I’m a Donkey for Your Love, We’ve Been Friends Since 1989).  Listening to them makes me want to go skateboarding and skin my knees, chug a Slurpee, and go back to 7th grade. So take a trip back to your awkward teens and watch the video and download the Mp3s below.  If you like them enough for the Comet Tavern‘s 16oz PBR and a shot for $5, on Dec. 18th they are playing w/ The Exploding High Fives. Finals are over, so go have some fun.
